I was depressed when i heard the school bus today...

Generally in years prior to this year I was always sad to hear the school bus come around, because it meant the end of summer. It meant putting my books back in my back pack and gettin' my learn on. Last year however, it was different. Listening to the sound of the school bus stop in front of my house while I was laying in bed getting ready for another day at work was almost exciting. I was officially out of school and really never had to go back if I didn't want to.

However, today was different for some reason. The past couple of weeks Ryan and I have had a couple of conversations about how weird it is that we really are "grown up". No longer did summer signify carefree recklessness that it once did. It really just means warm weather. We still have to go to work, we still have to pay the bills. Kinda sad.

But on a lighter note!

Ryan and I had another successful and productive weekend. He actually took the whole weekend off this time so we had Saturday and Sunday together. We got a number of other small projects done around the house (still plenty left to do).

On Sunday we had his Great Grandmother's 90th Birthday Party. It was a neat experience since I had only met a small handful of Ryan's family. They really were an interesting bunch.

Post party I had the great idea of going to look at living room furniture and a new bedroom set. Now I had been wishing and hoping for quite some time to get some new furniture and when Ryan said "ok" to looking at it I was more then excited. We went to Rooms Today and I found a chair I was in love with. Problem was a couldn't find a couch to match. So we moved on to Basset Furniture.

I'm glad i moved on though, because I really am thrilled with what I got. I still need to pick out a coffee table and end table set - but I'd rather wait then rush it to be sure I get what I want. I didn't get a bedroom set yet - but I'll cross my fingers that it happens sooner rather then later.
It should all be in by the end of the month - so plan a visit some time to scope it out! (Hopefully by then some of the small projects in the living room will be done so it'll all be complete).
