A Week Later...

and I think I finally got the house back in order. After the party last week I took down most of the decorations and did some of the heavy cleaning, but I think I finished up all the small stuff today. Getting everything back on the shelves, taking down window clings, etc. Except for the fall-ish corn stalks and uncarved pumpkins outside everything is pretty much done. Thank-goodness.

I went to the mall today and it was amazing that less then a week after Halloween I walk into department stores and there were Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE! The parking lot was full of cars, and there were signs for Black Friday Shopping. It's crazy that we can even enjoy the holidays with them pushing the next so quickly. Either way, I'm still excited for the next two months and everything they bring (holidays, trips, new year)! But anyway - I got in the mall, successfully grabbed a gift for Kevin and Anna's wedding and was out the door in a jiffy.

After the mall I went to Border Cafe with Katy (after going in circles trying to avoid traffic). I seduced her into coming by offering her a free meal - and then used her for music selection help (hehe Katy - I got you good! - j/k). As I think I mentioned previously our DJ gave us about 5-7 pages of information to fill out. Some of the information he requested was "must play" dance songs and slow songs, various pieces of ceremony music, introduction music, special dance songs and much more. Perhaps one of the hardest parts was the 2 pages of "top wedding songs" that I had to say "yeah" or "nay" to - half of which I didn't know, must of which I was impartial to. Katy helped a bundle. She knows Ryan and I's taste fairly well and was able to determine what we would enjoy while also keeping the other people in mind. In addition she had some other songs on her ipod that we listened to and were able to decide on special songs for different dances. So much for laying off the wedding for awhile! It's a releif to get something so small, yet so important (after all, the music determines if the party lame or awesome!) off our plate.

Tonight we're headed to Bryan and Katy's for a little bash. I feel like this might be their first "real" party at their apartment, which would be fun. I mean, we've been over before with various friends and such - but not with a bunch of people and flowing alcohol. YIPPEE!
