Another Productive Weekend

With all the wonderful weather this past weekend Ryan and I wanted to get out of the house and do a few things out doors.

We started Saturday bright and early. Ryan has been trying to get his jeep running for this spring/summer, so he decided to try and tackle fixing his break lines. While he was working on them, I did a few more things in the nursery (more organizing/putting away) and then decided I’d start cleaning my car. I need to schedule an appointment to get our car seat inspected to make sure it’s installed right, so I brought all of the car seat gadgets outside and had Ryan help me install them in my nice clean car.

Afterwards I returned a few things to Babies R Us and didn’t really do much of anything until later that evening when my brother and Katy came over for a late night BBQ and to “throw the rock around”.

Sunday was a less productive and more low-key day. With the time change and a late night the evening before we slept in a little before running a few errands in the earlier part of the morning. Later that day Bryan and Katy came over again to work on a few more baby-related projects.

Bryan and Ryan have been constructing a toy box for the little guy, so they worked on putting the finishing touches on it as far as construction goes. Now it’s up to Bryan to paint and decorate it and trim it out in a couple of places to give it that finished look.

While they were busy being carpenters, Katy and I worked on making curtains for the nursery. I had been dreading doing it since I bought the fabric (I was totally psyched at first that I could do this and then started wishing I had just purchased curtains and called it a day). However, it went pretty smoothly and I’m so happy with the way they’ve turned out so far! I just need to purchase the hooks to hang the curtain rod and I’ll be able to hang them and measure them for a nice hem along the bottom.

Even though looking back it doesn’t seem like I did THAT much, by the end of the day I was tired and laid on the couch to read for a little while. A nice end to the weekend for sure.
