I had been warned, but it’s still a surprise. This past week or so I have been losing my hair. Not just little bits here and there, but globs of it at a time!
Apparently this is common for most women after pregnancy. During pregnancy you lose less hair – your hair is staying in it’s “resting” phase longer than normal (so typically your hair will feel thicker during pregnancy) due to hormones and all that good stuff. Usually about 12 weeks post partum all those resting hairs start to fall out. I read that on average you loose 100-150 hairs per day (when your NOT pregnant and hormonal). However, during the post pregnancy hair loss when your hormones start to readjust, you can lose up to 500 hairs a day!! A considerable difference!
I’m confident I won’t be going bald any time soon, but poor Ryan has some extra drain cleaning to do.
