Do you mind?? I'm eating here!!!

It has been so amazing watching our little man develop over the last 4.5 months. It seems like every day... week... month, it's something new. Every step brings him closer and closer to a fully aware and functioning being.

Most recently his awareness has developed most around feeding time. I must say that this particular change came out of no where and at the time was just too cute (as it continues to happen though, it's getting less adorable).

The other day I was sitting in the living room feeding Jude on the couch. Typically when Jude's eating, that's all that matters. Stopping him before he's finished or not having enough (in the rare instance that he gets a bottle anymore) is like "seriously?? feed me more!!!". However, while sitting on the couch earlier this week while feeding, Ryan walks in the door. Being that Buddy is always the first to acknowledge Ryan's coming home, Ryan was praising him for being such a good dog and then made his way into the living room.

Well, it seemed almost as soon Jude heard Ryan's voice he stopped eating and just looked up at me. He seemed to have a half smile ("awww daddy's home!") but at the same time had this look that was like "I enjoy my peace and quite while eating if you don't mind." At one point I had to specifically ask Ryan if we could finish out greeting one another after Jude was done eating because he just could not concentrate and at that rate I'd be feeding him for the next hour.

Since then it had happened on more than one occasion. For example feeding him in the family bathroom at the mall today, he heard so many noises on the other side of the door he was just too curious to really stay focused. Thank goodness he eventually let it go though and fell asleep in my arms.

It's so neat to see him become more and more interested in what's going on around him!
