Question: When I was breastfeeding Riley she would only drink from one boob leaving me to pump the other. does jude have a favorite boobie or does he do pretty well rotating between them?
Answer: The answer to this has fluctuated a little over the past 6-7 months.
When I first had Jude, he would do really well on the left but was not as good on the right. I never had very sore/cracked nipples and all that, but there was a little more pain associated with feeding Jude on the right when he first got started. Looking back, I think I'd associate that with the right producing more. So, at first, when my milk came in, it was probably harder for him to get a good latch.
Once he did get the hang of it, the right is without a doubt his 'favorite'. It produces way more and it seriously feels like it's always ready to go. The left produces much less and NEEDS the four hours in between to stock back up.
When I wake up, we always start on the right and then switch back and forth through the day - usually ending on the left. He takes well to both and I've never had a situation where I had to pump because he wouldn't take a side.
I do often 'joke' that the right is his 'meal' boob and the left is his 'snack' side that keeps him full between meals. I think it's amazing that he eats for equal amounts of time on both sides, but it produces significantly less. I guess though that it's regulated it's self according to Jude's needs.

I always had a great supply but after a few months, once i regulated, I noticed that one of my breasts definitely produced more and the other was more of a milk dud. Trent never showed any favoritism, but when I pumped at work I noticed a big production difference. In doing some research I found that almost all women have an over acheiver. It's very interesting to me!
nice pic, btw!
I don't know if it is my favorite because it is more comfortable, or Brooklyn's favorite. But my right side is my overachiever. I also do different holds for each side. My right side we do the football hold, but on my left we do the cross hold. Do you use different hold for each side?
If I'm feeding Jude while sitting (on a couch, in bed, whatever.) I pretty much always just cradle him. Especially if I know he'll be going to sleep. I usually let him nap in my arms, so I try to get him as comfortable as I can before he fall asleep.
So I would say how I hold him is much more situational then what side I'm on.
