Scrapbook... and Pictures

When I was younger, I used to scrapbook. I wasn't any good at it, and looking back on some of the stuff I did then, it was terrible. I think it's safe to say that when my mom took all of her crafty good with her to North Carolina, I totally dropped out of the hobby all together.

Then, a couple years ago, I decided to get back into it. I still wouldn't say I'm some superior scrapbook-er, but I'm generally pleased with the way they turn out. I have been doing one collective book a year. It started out where all of one year would fit into one book and Now they're over flowing into two books. I can only imagine how big 2009 and 2010 will be with the onslaught of Jude pictures.

Around mid-2009, I ordered a bunch of prints and scrapbooked up to about the end of April. Why the end of April? Because that's when Jude was born. I'm not going to use the same "I've just been so busy with the baby, I haven't had time excuse"... because as you can tell from my all-too-frequent blogs, I have plenty of time.

Really, the reason is because it's soooo intimidating! Even if every picture isn't great, they all have Jude in them! So they are all so precious to me!

In addition to the scrapbooks I have some frames and other little doodads that hold pictures that I still need to fill. They have been sitting in a pile in my living room since who-knows-when collecting dust and serving as distractions for Jude.

Tonight Ryan had an unexpected trip to the movies and I swore that after I put Jude down, I would finally order some of these prints while Ryan was out! Well, we're about an hour into that and I've been avoiding it like the plague.

Perhaps I'll start small with the misc. frames and albums... and then move on to the scrapbook.

Question: What is that ONE thing you just keep putting off doing??

baby related: one thing i keep putting off is making Trent's shadow box. Actually, I made one when he was a newborn but im unhappy with how small it is. I plan to buy a bigger shadow box and do it up right. and I want to do this before the new baby arrives. It should be very inexpensive and not very time consuming at all, so really, whats my excuse??

I spent most of my teenage years working in craft stores after school, drooling over scrapbooking supplies that I could never really afford (plus, my life just wasn't really worth scrapbooking at the time :-P ). I always told myself that when I was the SuperMom I always dreamed of being someday I'd scrapbook all the time. Now it seems like every time I turn around I have some kind of birthday party or 1st haircut or chorus recital to scrapbook -- I don't know where the hell to start! It's definitely the number one thing I put off too.
