Last night I was asked if I wanted to see the midnight showing of "New Moon". I had just recently seen the first installation "twilight" within the past few weeks and thought it was "decent". It's hard to say how I really felt about it. I mean it's obviously cheesy and geared towards the young teeny-bopper type crowd, but whatever. I appreciated it for what it was.
After watching it, I assumed I'd at some point see the second, just to see 'what happens next'. Whether this was in theaters or at some point down the road when it came out on DVD or on Demand...I didn't know.
When I was asked to go to the midnight show and I had nothing else to do, I figured, what the heck, why not. The parking lot was much less crowded than expected and I was surprised to see that even close to 45 min before the movies started, people had already been let into the theaters - no long lines or screaming people in the lobby. Of course when we got there, the theater was already pretty much full and we ended up with "front row seats". But it wasn't bad at all.
The movie was surprisingly better than I had expected and dare I say... enjoyable?? I have no idea what happens next (as I haven't read the books), but I'm interested in seeing the third. They really left it in a "...to be continued..." spot and some random characters need to be wrapped up, so I'm curious to see what happens.
This morning was super rough. I never got to bed until about 3 o'clock and Jude was up around 5:30 to eat. He's had a little bit of a runny nose, so it was hard for him to get back to sleep. Since he sucks his thumb, when his nose is runny, it's hard to breath. After about 30 minutes and a good cleaning with the nose pump thing, he was back out and I was too. We slept in a little and I feel good to go!
It was totally worth it in my opinion... and a much needed time out of the house.

so glad you had a good time. Thnk you'll ever read the books?
im jealous! i cant wait 2 see it
Ryan asked me today how I liked the movie and I said it was better than the first, etc.
I thought about reading the third book just because... (I don't know if I could read the first and second since I've seen the movie...) but I really have no idea how closely they're following to the book. Like people in the theater said they were shocked where they left off, which makes me wonder if they started the third or didn't finish the second book. So I'm not sure. I have been needing a good book lately, but I'm not sure if I'd get into it.
I hated it!
hahaha

(This second one followed the book pretty closely. Included a lot of scenes and stuff I wouldn't have thought would have made it because of time and editing constraints - Anyway, I'm fairly certain the second book leaves off kind of like that, with the talk of marriage, or at least the third book starts with it.)
You can read it in a day - two days tops.
