I'm learning that yes, you WILL use that useless math when you grow up.
You'll use it when you're trying to figure out the right words to describe how quickly your child masters the various motor skills. There really is no other way to put it other than "exponential growth". For so long it's like nothing. Little pieces here and there... nothing significant. Until one day they finally figure out how to lift their head, smile, rollover, crawl... or pick themselves up. Then all of a sudden they're pulling themselves up all the time and using furniture to take tiny baby steps.
Yes! He's taking tiny baby steps. The very smallest of steps - the very first signs that he wants to move from point to point on something other than his belly. It has got to be one of the single cutest things ever. But I guess I've said that about every milestone? Haven't I?
In addition, you can hold his little hands and he'll walk along side of you, taking some of the most clumsy little steps ever to keep up.
