FLYING!

Last night Ryan and I met with a flying instructor! We had both been discussing the possibility of getting out Pilot's license and decided that it wasn't something we were just going to talk about. So, we took the first step.

It was a terrible night as far as the weather goes which is sad because I had hopes that we'd be able to go up for a "Discovery Flight" as the instructor called it. Instead, we told him we'd get back in touch with him in June to discuss when we'd like to start our lessons.

He advised us that a number of people begin lessons in the summer but his personal preference is starting in the Fall/Winter months as the weather is clearer and there's no A/C in the plane for hot summer days.

So when we meet with him in June we'll be able to determine when we'd like to start and sign up for ground school (whether online or in a classroom).

It was very intimidating when he said that the first time up we'd have hands on flying experience (aka we'd be flying the plane) but it was also reassuring when he told us that he'll have full access to his own set of controls to take over in the event of an issue. Either way I can't wait to fly a plane!

All so very exciting! We'll see how it goes.
