Regardless of all the good times I've been having the last couple of days lingering in the back of my mind has been a nightmare of events relating to my wedding invitations.
If you go back a few months you'll see a post about how excited I was to be designing my invitations. Well, I ordered everything then and was told to basically sit tight until Januray when things should start working themselves out. Around the end of Januray I followed up with the invitation people I had a contract with and was told everything was on schedule. However, after a series of phone calls and e-mails it became clear that things were in fact not on schedule. I tried many times to reach them and finally (through the good graces of myspace) got in touch with another bride who had been going through this just as long as I had been. I quickly began contacting other vendors trying to get my hands on anyone who could do a rush order for invitations.
I got in touch with a web-based invitation company who used "envelopments" (the same stationary supplier that the original lady uses) and they said they would be able to help. Over the past couple of days, it has been such a pleasure working with this company (Divine Design)Rory has been so prompt with everything. They are based in California and even with the time difference it has still been flawless processing all the information, ordering the materials and selecting wording and fonts, etc. I received my PDF file this morning with the information layed out and should have a sample by the end of this week that I just need to sign off on to begin production.
In addition, because of the tight time frame the previous company has put me in, Divine Design has agreed to mail me my envelopes in advance to get them addressed and ready to go when the actual inserts and invites arrive. Stay tuned in for more information as it comes!
