A Fall Fest

Generally I look forward to an exciting weekend and before I know it Friday is upon me, Saturday flies by and I blink one more time and I'm laying on my couch on Sunday night wondering where the time went. This weekend however, was oddly different. I kept busy all weekend, but it felt long and relaxed the way I always hope my weekends will be!

To start we have Kevin and Barbie over on Friday night for dinner and some dominos. As always it was a pleasure!!

Saturday Ryan and I woke up fairly early and did a good bit of work around the house. Since we've moved in we've been throwing all of our empty boxes into the garage. We finally broke down most of the boxes, put away some storage in the garage, and distributed more boxes to their appropriate rooms for unloading later. Afterwards, we went to our company picnic! It was very much like last year and a good time over all. they had the large moonbounce/obstacle course that I failed to complete this time around and food and water ice and much more! I had a good time for sure. That night was super relaxing as well. We made a small dinner, hung out TV on the wall and sat down and relaxed all evening.

Sunday was another day I was really looking forward to! We went to Milburn Orchard!! We had been up in the air about doing it early Saturday or waiting until Sunday. We went with Sunday because Ryan thought might have had to go into work on Saturday and it gave us more time to relax while we were there. We had Michele, and my brothers and Katy meet us there.

First, we picked out our pumpkin! Usually Ryan and I get a couple of smaller/mid-sized pumpkins, but this year, we decided to get one large one. We found a couple of them that we liked and chose one that we really wanted. However, as we were standing in like, something grabbed Ryan's attention and we decided to switch up. He saw this really large one sitting against a fence and we had to have it! We put it on the scale and it weighed in at 58+ pounds! The boy ringing us up said it was the biggest he'd sold so far this year (the previous winner being 55lbs). Next we did some apple picking. Ryan loves apples and I love picking, so it works for us. First we picked one to sample and it met his expectations. We ended up with about ten pounds of apples between the two of us. As Michele mentioned though, at least apples tend to keep for a good amount of time. Once we were all appled-out we swung by to get some apple cider donuts for Meghan (I know she loves them) and were on our way.

After a yummy lunch with my brothers we were home and on the couch by 5:30 (our sunday goal).

This week we have a few exciting things happening which I'll be sure to blog about as they come! In addition, Ryan and I bought tickets to go to a "Rise Against" concert at the Electric Factory this Friday night. For those of you who don't know, Rise Against is the group who sang our first dance song "Swing Life Away" a long with a number of other songs we both enjoy. It should be a good time! By the time we get home from the show, my mom and Curt should be up to see our house for the first time! Woo Whoo!
