My Baby Dream

As I continue to grow I’ve found that sleep is becoming more of a struggle. Not really a huge struggle, but more and more uncomfortable (I'm sure it'll just get wrose). I’ve always been a mover when I sleep going from stomach to sides to back but lately that’s just not an option. My doctor had told me in the beginning that around week 16 or so I should stop sleeping on my stomach or my back and sleep primarily on my sides. After more research I also read that it’s recommended to sleep on your left side as you’re squishing less organs on that side than your right – so many rules! I told my doctor at that time that I generally move during the night and am afraid that I’ll just roll on my stomach without thinking. She reassured me that when it came time for me to stop sleeping on my back my body would just KNOW what to do. She was 100% correct.

I remember one night laying in bed and trying to roll onto my stomach and it just felt uncomfortable. My stomach is not the size of a basket ball, but picture yourself as a kid trying to lay on top of a ball of some sort – just not comfortable. I could pretty distinctly feel some large round-ish object inside – that darn uterus.

So, since then I’ve been good about sleeping on my sides. Flipping randomly from left to right. Now on top of not sleeping exactly how I’d like I have a husband who ‘breathes heavy’ (a gentle way of saying ‘snores’) and a dog who things he owns the bed. UGH!

But I do manage to get some deep sleeps in between my moving. The other night in particular I had my first baby dream. However, it wasn’t just a “aww look at our baby” it was more of a “aww look at all six of our babies that we had all at once!” Yes, I had six babies in my dream. Oddly enough my biggest concern with the whole thing was what I would name them, and getting enough matching car seats. I remember being in the hospital that also doubled as a babies r us and the nurse was showing Ryan how to change diapers and I was running around the store returning the 3 girl car seats I had for 3 more boy colored car seats. Interesting.
