A NEW TOY! (I’m so spoiled!)

So while sitting at my doctor’s appointment yesterday I get a call from my mom. My mom is about ten times worse than me when it comes to keeping secrets (yes, she’s THAT bad!). When she gets excited about something she wants you to know and be excited too!

Typically if she’s trying to keep a secret she’ll call and TELL you she has a secret and then follow it up with “do you want me to tell you?!” and when you say sure you get “oh no! I can’t!” and you say fine and she then bubbles it out. Yesterday was no exception. When she told me she had a “surprise” for me I was confused and assumed it was something for the baby. She said it was “sorta” for him and told me it was a “large purchase”. That immediately makes me worried because large purchases mean I either have to LOVE it or break her little heart and tell her it’s just not worth it.

Well, it was TOTALLY worth it.

Since I’ve gotten my Nikon D40 however long ago, I have been wanting to upgrade and just haven’t been able to justify the purchase (the D40 was kinda my “trial run” with SLR cameras to see how I felt about them). I guess my mom keeps up with it though and regularly checks for good deals on them. She said she found a great deal the other day that she couldn’t toss up so she ordered me one! Her excuse is that she wants pictures of her grandbaby (as if she wouldn’t get them with out it??).

I’m thrilled and can’t wait for it to come in!

Now, in addition to the camera she said the company called to tell her to get the deal you have to get a package with it. She said the package she ordered had a battery and some other add on’s (she’s not a camera expert – so that’ll be the surprise part) – so I’m even excited to see what little extras I’ll be getting with it.
