Quality Time - Alone

Recently Ryan got a part time job working at Lowe's. In the past Ryan pretty much had the chance to work as much over time as he wanted at the company he works for, however with the slowing economy the over time has dwindled and so Ryan decided he'd get a part time job to compensate. In the mean time my brother bought a house which required a good bit of work (and Ryan's assistance). Add on to that my early trips to bed and we have pretty conflicting schedules.

This is nothing new for us. Ryan and I had different schedules for a good bit of our relationship. At one point I worked nights and he works days. In addition there was a time where I went to school during the week, he worked during the week and I worked night as and weekends. Then of course up until just recently it was not uncommon for us both to work days and him to work over time most weekends. Once business slowed though, I got REALLY used to spending a lot more time with him! We got a lot done around the house, spent a lot of time together and it was just enjoyable in general (especially with all the preparing and such that we've have to do).

Well starting early last week it has been one thing after another. Between Lowe's and helping my brother I have hardly seen the little guy. This week doesn't seem like it'll be any different. Last night he worked, tonight he's at a Phillies game, tomorrow he's doing some side work (which will probably roll into Thursday) and Friday is another Lowe's night. He hasn't gotten his schedule for this weekend, but I'm crossing my fingers that at least one evening this weekend, the two of us will be able to spend some time alone.

In the mean time I'll continue my lame evenings alone - going to the movies, eating dinner and running errands alone.
