Rolling Over??!!

You may think I'm crazy - because I think I'm going crazy, but Jude is rolling over from his belly to his back.

I'll start by saying he is an extremely active baby. When he's laying on his back or belly, his legs are constantly moving. He lifts his head and looks around and just really keeps moving.

It started last week sometime. I was laying on the couch with Jude on the ottoman in front of me. He was laying on his belly (his preferred position when we're relaxing together) and all of the sudden after fidgetting around he comes tumbling towards me.

I was in awe and thought "did he just roll over??" I shrugged it off and thought "no way". The ottoman has a slight curve to it and so I assumed gravity was at work and he just tumbled with the slight incline.

Fast forward a couple of days to when we were at the beach. Jude was laying on the couch and my grand parents were cooing like crazy at him. I was sitting around observing when again he tumble over. My grandparents about threw a fit and Bryan and Katy called him our little over achiever. Again I told them it was not a real roll over because the couch was on a little tilt and he rolled with the slight angle.

My denying came to an end last night when Jude officially rolled over on his own. He has a play mat that I lay him on regularly. He seems to love it because he can wiggle around as much as he wants unrestrained (and as much as his legs are moving, who can blame him). I usually will lay down along side of him and try to coax smiles out and make noise with the little toys hanging from the mat. Last night after I was done playing he was still on his mat, Ryan was on the couch and I was laying down on the floor watching TV. He was on his tummy with his little legs going crazy when all the sudden he flips himself over onto his back.

I was so impressed! I turned him back over to try and get him to do it again, but I'm thinking it was totally on accident. He's still so young that I don't expect him to do it regularly, but considering the totally flat surface and that no one was touching/helping him, there's no denying it.
