Swimming

Yesterday I took Jude for a trip to the pool. I had thought when I was out on maternity leave that I would be spending lots of time at my grandparents pool, but that didn't quite happen.

First of all, I wasn't allowed to swim until my doctor released me (which happened at around 6 weeks). Second, my grandfather needed to get a new liner in his pool this year, which didn't happen until last friday. Third, I didn't have a bathing suit that would fit my massive breasts.
However, yesterday I decided to take Jude to the pool. I was released to swim, the new liner was in place and I threw a t-shirt over my half exposed chest. I got Jude all dressed and ready to go in his swim trunks and headed on over.
When I first put his feet in the water he started to cry. The cold water is not something he's a fan of and he was already getting a little sleepy. So, I stood in the shallow end of the pool holding him in my arms for a few minutes. Before long he was asleep. Slowly I started to dip his little toes in the water and he didn't even flinch. Before I knew it I had him in up to about mid-thigh. He didn't seem to mind, but like I said, he was asleep.
My grandmother being the sweet little lady she is decided to help me out and brought out a long foam raft and told me to lay Jude on it to give my arms a break. The raft had been sitting out in the sun, so was really warm. While Jude was floating around I slowly started to trickle water onto it and between the sun/the raft the water was very warm. Before too long, he had his own little puddle under him. At some point or another he woke up and was doing a little splashing around. He seemed to like it a lot more when the water was nice and warm (who can blame him??).

I'm glad he finally got to wear his adorable little swim trunks. I love them!
