A Night with the Elderly.

Yesterday we went to mom-mom and pop-pop's house after work (we = Ryan and I).

It was fun hanging out with them. It's interesting to see what I have to look forward to.

My Mom-Mom kept talking about her first wedding with a custom made dress with imported silk and lace from italy and everything else. It was a little too much when she got into details about her honeymoon night - but I toughed it out.

Poor Ryan had to work through the rain and heat trying to fix their air conditioner in the end he still didn't fix it (apparently he only had to do one quick thing to get it going) but it was worth it.

After we were done with all the air conditioner stuff we went to dinner at TGIFriday's. It adorable how when you get old the only thing you have to worry about it how far from the door the hostess sat you or how quickly your meal comes after you get your salad or how they only have new england clam chowder on Friday's - when it should be a daily soup. I can't wait until I get that old and can stop worrying about my car payment being a couple days late or not having all the money to pay for the wedding or making a decision about whether i want to have kids or not. Because by then it'll all be over and I'll be living in the day and probably worrying less about my future and more about the stuff that's currently happening and trying to make the best of it.

Most of all, I can't wait until I'm old enough to say that I've been married to Ryan for 54 years and still madly in love. (They truly are)

But I guess we should learn from them now - because really we never are guarenteed the future.
