Well Saturday the 21st of July was Delaware City Day. When you go to Delaware City Day, you tend to have two different type of people who attend: you have those who live in Delaware City and those who DON'T live in Delaware City. It's fairly easy to determine who is who.
These people live in Delaware City (we had a number of these people who ventured over to our BBQ and made themselves right at home - some of which we had no idea who they were).
These People DON'T live in Delaware City (these people I do happen to know)
But, all joking a side, it was a great day. Ryan's dad owns a home right on the water in DC so he hosts a fabulous BBQ ever year for the occasion. It's bigger thent he 4th of July of them and almost comes close to Christmas.
There were Kabobs, pasta salad, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, fresh squeezed lemonade, and so much more! I feel like all I did all day was eat, eat, eat. (which is why when I'm done this I will be heading straight for the gym)
Not to mention the amazing funnel cake and sand art down in the carnival-type area. There were hillbillies singing, men carry clouds of balloons, people selling neon lights, and a variety of craft stands for your viewing and shopping pleasure.
While we were there, one of Mr. Kennedy's neighbors brought their new puppy over for us to see. It was a itty bitty chocolate lab that looked so much like zoey did when she was just a little baby. I have to admit that Ryan seems a little more open to maybe getting another dog in the near future after seeing this little guy. Him and Zoey played so well together. All in all, Zoey had a great day as well.
Perhaps the best part of the day as always was the fireworks. They always put up the best show. It's great being able to sit in the front yard and have one of the best views in the city!
It seemed like everyone had such a great time. In addition it's always nice to have my family and Ryan's (although there weren't too many of his) get together and mingle. It's nice to see everyone getting along and enjoy themselves.
