Yesterday, I decided to take a day off of work. Mrs. Barbie and I decided that with all of our hard work on a daily basis (surfing the internet, updating myspace, sending e-mail) we deserved to take a break and enjoy the sun and the sand. So we took a trip to Rehoboth for the day.
To start our mid-week break we celebrated by going to see "Hairspray". It was a super cute movie. What movie that proclaims "I wish everyday was Negro Day" isn't great?
The next morning we woke up early (but not as earlya s we WOULD have if we had work) to head south. We did everything exciting that you could think of to do on a day trip to the beach. We put our feet in the water, we layed out on the sand, ate french fries and ice cream (and about a million other things), got our picture taken in a photo booth, almost got a parking ticket, played boardwalk games, shopped, and just all around had a good time.
While at the beach the ever present peer pressure came over us and we decided tattoos were a must have. So, we took a trip to the local tattoo shop and decided on some pretty flowers (other options mentioned were flip flops, a kite, barbie seemed to toy with the idea of a lizard, and then there's the much desired naked men and women that we determined were just a little TOO far). The guy was pretty interesting who did the tattoos - once I got passed the self mutilation story that he shared with us, he was pretty funny. He told us that he actually used to be an illustrator for some "adult" comic books - so we had a real live artist at hand.
After the tattos, we got some McDonalds and were on our way.
When we got home we got to show off our fancy feet to the guys and part our seperate ways.
All in all, it was a great time.
