Last night, Ryan and I picked up our wedding album! Even though the wedding feels like it was just yesterday it's more than 5 months behind us! I was very excited to pick up the album because I haven't really looked through the wedding photos since we put the album images together however-many months ago.
The process for picking out images and confirming the album was very difficult and fun at the same time. There were hundreds and hundreds of images to consider and I could only have so many before I'd have to over flow into a second book (which wasn't happening since the price tag was in the thousands). Either way, once I had all my pictures chosen it was only a matter of time before I got the call to come in and solidfy the lay-out of the book.
I met with Michele at Laura Novak Photography and we went through the digital version of my album page by page making any adjustments I thought were necessary. Anything from cropping an image, changing from color to black & white, moving pictures around on a particular page, deleting/replacing images, fading, etc. It's amazing what these people are capable of doing with a raw photo.
Not too long ago I was told that my album was very close to being complete and had to chose 2 songs to accompany the slide show I would also receive. I chose "Something" and "Here comes the Sun" by the Beatles. They were two songs used in our ceremony. When I watched the slide show last night, they really were the perfect songs for it!
When I picked up my album last night I had Ryan come with me. He of course drove home while I flipped through the book for the first two times for the evening! I loved it! I hear people talk all the time about how they cried when they looked at their pictures or got their album for the first time. Ryan and I were just the opposite. We laughed through the whole book. Ryan and I had high expectations that we would have a GREAT time at our wedding and both of us feel that we acheived it. When we were looking through the album we thought back to all of the great memories from the day and loved how the images captured that joy and excitement. Not to mention the lay out and design of the album really told the story from start to finish.
But, as Ryan put it, this offically wraps up an stray wedding related items...
