Christmas Eve:
Every Christmas Eve, we spend the evening with my mom's family. After church we went back to my mom-mom's for dinner and presents. As always it was very laid back and a good time for all. Afterwards we came back to Ryan and I's house to open gifts with my family from my mom and Curt.
Christmas Day:
Christmas Day as always was a pretty hectic time. We always have to balance all the family members who want to spend time with us. We started the morning by getting dinner prepared and going to visit Ryan's family. They pretty much gather at Ryan's mom's to watch Kennedy and Matthew open gifts and get presents from Ryan's parents. After hanging out there for awhile we headed over to my grandmom's to see my dad and Mary and my grandmom. We spent a little while there and then went to Ryan's grandmother's for a little more time with his family.
After all of our running around we were back home and I was able to finish our Christmas dinner. We had gotten one of those free turkeys for Thanksgiving from the grocery store and I thought Christmas would be the perfect time to cook it. So in addition to turkey I made all the fixings for the turkey. Everything turned out wonderfully and we had a few people over for a buffet-style turkey dinner. It was a relaxing end to a normally busy day.
My long weekend:
We were given an extra day off of work and since my mom was here to visit we of course had to do some day-after-christmas shopping. We went to babies r s first and did some massive baby shopping. For Christmas my mom didn't get us too many gifts because we told her that what we really needed was things for the coming baby. It was really refreshing and exciting to get things for the little guy.
Later Ryan and I went to see Marley and Me which was just the sweetest movie! Not to mention we hit up a mini Birthday Party for my little brother Chad. Busy Busy Busy.
New Years Eve:
Ryan and I didn't really have any plans for the new year. We were pretty much just playing it by ear until my brother asked if we wanted to have a mini-party. We were totally down and invited a few close friends over to our house. We had a pretty good time just hanging out and at mid-night watched the ball drop on the projector. Through the night I had my new margarita machine going and people seemed to really enjoy them!
Last but not least.... New Years Day:
Ryan and I hadn't been able to spend too much time together after the holidays because he was working a good bit of over time. So, New Years Day was some quality time for us. We basically sat on the couch all day watching our new Scrubs DVD's and did a little dinner out.
A nice beginning to the New Year!
