My Blue Baby

Blue: Like the paint on his walls

As you know from previous posts we've been working towards getting the nursery ready to go. Right before vacation we got a call from Babies R Us that the crib was in and Ryan and his dad were on their way to finishing the prep-ing of the little guys room. Well, once we were back from vacation one of the first things I did was make an appointment to pick up the crib. It's currently sitting in our garage and currently still in pieces in the box, but it's one step closer to being in the room!

Also this week my dad took some time to come over and paint the nursery. He has been asking since we got in the house when he could come over and help with some projects and specifically mentioned how it'd mean a lot to him to help with the nursery. Being that Ryan's dad got to help prep the walls, hang doors and random other things I thought it would be appropriate to let my dad do a little work too. I picked out the paints this past weekend and he started painting yesterday.

The basic design plan was solid blue walls and on the "main wall" aka where the crib will go I wanted a large horizontal stripe in a variety of colors and sizes. It's difficult to explain. But on Wednesday I come home to the solid blue walls. It's slightly darker than I had imagined, but I love it! It's such a large room that going dark and bold is not a problem at all.

Then today I come home and the stripes are just about done! The way I layed them out required quite a bit of taping, and probably even more patience, but he did a great job. There's just a little bit of work left and it should be just about done. Hopefully this weekend we'll start putting the crib together and getting things cleaned up in the room because Jude will be here before we know it! It should be exciting to start placing things around the room, buying pictures, wall art and everything else in the near future.

Blue: Like the water I swim in

A few weeks ago I had mentioned to my dearest Meghan that I had heard nothing but good things about water exercise during pregnancy. I told her that I'd love to maybe take a trip or two to the Y with her to either just exercise or maybe join a water aerobics class. Well I got a call yesterday from her that they had a class tonight. There were two classes to chose from a deep water and shallow water. We went with deep water (mostly because we didn't see the shallow water at the time we committed to a group).

When we arrived we didn't know exactly what to do, so we asked the instructor for a little information. She was an adorable little lady who seemed thrilled with the idea that I was pregnant and told me "this is exactly where you want to be!". We did a number of different 'cardio' exercises and then some strength training. She was really sweet and even asked a few times if I was doing alright (there were some issues originally trying to find the best belt to fit so she wanted to make sure things were going well). During the strength training section there were a few exercises I couldn't do that focused on your "core" so I did some extra arm moves, but for the most part it was a great class that I'd love to go back to. I don't feel tired at all and am not sure how many muscles really got a deep work out - but I guess I'll find that out tomorrow when/if I'm sore. I came home and told Ryan I'd love to get another gym membership to do this type of stuff more regularly again... we'll see how that goes.
