Last night was our second night with Jude in his crib.
As I said he did pretty well the first half of the night the first time we tried. Unfortunately because I had some intense abdominal pain (re: gallstones/gallbladder?) that night we cut the crib short to have him close to us since neither Ryan nor I were sleeping well as a result of my pain and discomfort. So, instead of getting up and going in Jude's room we just had him near us for quick access for feedings and changing.
So, last night we tried again. I fed Jude his last pre-bed feeding downstairs and let him fall asleep in my arms again. Then I took him upstairs and laid him down in his crib. He jolted a little and passed right back out.
It's almost like he can sense the vast-ness of his crib and this wakes him up more frequently than he did when he was in our room. But either way, he gets some good 2 hour stretches of good sleep and the crib seems to be working well for him. I feed him in his rocking chair and he seems to love falling sleep to the rocking motion and feeding.
Unfortunately I was up for a little while with more pain last night, so when Ryan left for work this morning Jude came back into our room so I could try and sleep in a little more. So, it appears that the transition to 100% crib time will be a slow, but he seems to be doing very well with it.
