Jude got the whole rolling-from-belly-to-back thing pretty quick. I myself didn't believe he was actually doing it until I saw it at least 3 times. I had heard though that rolling from back to belly was a more difficult feat and so didn't expect to see it happen for a little while.
Well, there's always a surprise waiting for you somewhere in motherhood. Tonight, Jude did a little half roll from his back to his side. I laid him down on the floor for some kicking and squirming to tire him out as we do most nights. As I was putting him down, he pretty much seemed to roll off my hands and onto his side. I looked at him a little surprised and figured it was probably mostly because he was on an angle... you know, gravity.
Well, I put him back on his back and what do you know? He rolls back onto his side! In the three or so times he did it tonight he only got as far as his side. Basically his arms are laying out in front of him, so he gets stumped when he gets 1/2 way there. But he seems to be arching his neck and kinda using his head to push himself over. What a little trooper.
Even though I don't expect him to be cruising around the living room any time soon, it's always exciting to see the beginning of another milestone in his little life.
