I Now Interrupt This Regularly Scheduled Summer Break...

... To tell you that we just might (finally?) have a walker on our hands!

Since as early as December (at least), Jude has been standing while holding things. He's been pushing objects around and walking with them. But now, about 8 months later it is all paying off! For the past couple weeks he's been getting more and more daring. Standing on his own for seconds at a time, holding onto our finger ever so gently while walking around and taking a step or two all on his own and then tumbling to the ground.
But today, Jude's little buddy Trent was over and he knew he needed to walk to keep up! He was pulling me towards the living room where Trent was pushing his little lawn mower around when I broke the connection between our fingers and he just took off! I kept thinking 'any second now he'll realize I'm not there' but he made it clear across the room before turning around, laughing and plopping to the ground! I mist say it was a very proud mommy moment.

But that wasn't the end. Through the rest of the night he kept taking steps here and there or standing up unassisted and just taking one risk after another.

I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!

In other news: I'll leave you with another cute Jude moment of the day. Everyday just about, Jude and I venture over to check out the garden. Maybe Jude just wanted to get out of the house, maybe he just really wanted to see if anything was ripe, but at one point he grabbed my hand while inside and insisted (by pointing and grunting) that I take him outside. Once outside I set him down and held my hand and walked me to the garden on the side of the house. After checking all the veggie plants, he willingly let me take him back inside.

This in general has been jude's mentality lately. He has clear ideas about where he wants to go and what he wants to do.
