To Keep Up (perhaps with some recap)

# 14: A Handy Project

This past weekend we got our entertainment stand we ordered. Typically I would beam with excitement, open the box pull all of the pieces out and ask Ryan to help me put it together (usually with him ending up doing most of the work and me watching). However, I thought “what the heck, I’ll do it!”. Half way through I asked Ryan to help me and he said something along the lines of “don’t you want to do a handy project all on your own” (which is code for “do I really have to get off the couch??”) but I was fine with that, but it would finish my #14.

At one point I needed him to hold something as I screwed some pieces together, but really I did the work. Afterwards we got it in place and I’m very happy with the way it looks in the room!

#30: Unpack all of our boxes

While cleaning out our garage I noticed that I only had about 3 boxes left to unpack. I realized one was just a storage box and the other two were just about ½ empty anyway. So, I took a few moments, unloaded the boxes and can say that we’re pretty much officially moved in! That’s not to say that all of these items have been put away! I still have a collection of knick knacks and other random items that I’ll put on shelves, ledges, and where ever else as each room gets completed, but at least they’re out of their boxes and I’m one step closer to being settled!

#45: Get Someone Else to Recycle

Perhaps one I missed commenting on before. My brother and Katy recycle. Apparently it’s not uncommon for Bryan to cheat and throw some of the recycling in the trash, but from what I hear they try – and that’s all anyone can really ask for!

#54: Take Buddy to the Dog Park

We’re now on two successful dog park trips!

#66: Take Ryan to the Daily Show or Colbert Report

Ryan went online a little while ago and both shows were totally out for the rest of the year. However, he’s been checking up from time to time and just found that tickets were available for August! We were slightly hesitant since Jude will only be about 3-1 ½ months old, but we’ll see how it goes! By then he will have already been in daycare for over a month and I’m sure there’s a grandparent or an aunt/uncle who would love to spend the day with him! The details will need to be ironed out a little more as we fall into a routine and I’m sure I’ll have plenty to say about our trip in the future, but another one ½ checked!

#80: Organize Finances on the Computer:

Made a spreadsheet. Listed dates, totals, and other misc information. I won’t bore you with the details!

#92: Katy made a 101 in 1001 list!!

I’m getting there!
